What’s the most underrated movie you’ve ever watched?
Back in the day, Friday nights meant wandering the aisles of Blockbuster, scanning the shelves for a weekend pick. During one holiday break years ago, I rented Empire Records and it immediately became one of my all-time favourites.

Decades later, I still watch it over and over. It remains the single most underrated movie of its era.
The Magic of Empire Records
- Unbeatable Nostalgia: It perfectly captures the 90s indie record store vibe, alt-rock fashion, and chaotic energy of youth before smartphones and streaming.
- A Stellar Cast: Featuring breakout performances by Liv Tyler, Renée Zellweger, Robin Tunney, Ethan Embry, Rory Cochrane, Johnny Whitworth, and Anthony
- An Iconic Soundtrack: Packed with mid-90s gems from Gin Blossoms, The Cranberries, Edwyn Collins, and Toad the Wet Sprocket.
It’s hilarious, comforting, and timeless. Damn the man, save the Empire!
