The countdown is officially on. In just seven days, the tranquil waters of Little Venice will transform into London’s most vibrant floating festival. From Saturday, 2nd May to Monday, 4th May, the IWA Canalway Cavalcade returns for another spectacular May Bank Holiday weekend, and we can’t wait to see you there!

Whether you’re a seasoned boater or a first-time visitor looking for a unique London experience, there is something truly magical about seeing the Grand Union and Regent’s Canals come alive with colour, music, and community spirit.

What’s On the Water?
It wouldn’t be a Cavalcade without the stars of the show: the boats! Expect to see over a hundred narrowboats and historic vessels dressed in their finest bunting.
- The Pageant of Boats: Watch a stunning parade of vessels cruise through the pool on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
- Boat Handling Competitions: See the experts test their skills in the narrow waterways throughout the weekend.
- The Illuminated Parade: On Sunday evening at 9:00 PM, the water turns into a twinkling wonderland as boats light up the night—this is the highlight of the weekend!
- Blessing of the Boats: Join us on Sunday at 12:45 PM for this traditional ceremony on the Horsebridge.
Fun for the Whole Family
Beyond the towpath, the festival is packed with activities:
- Live Music & Entertainment: From Jazz in the Pool and Mandolin Monday to the “Nutcracker in Spring” puppet show at Rembrandt Gardens.
- Food & Stalls: Soak up the atmosphere with a multitude of unique stalls, a real ale bar, and delicious foods for all appetites.
- Kids’ Zone: Look out for the Teddy Bears’ Picnic (Sunday, 3:00 PM), circus skills workshops, and “Paddlesport with Pirates” aboard the Pirate Prince.
