Word of the day – Quartz worktops

Quartz worktops are made of pieces of natural stone bonded together with a small amount of adhesive. The stone used is quartz, one of nature’s toughest materials, and a very versatile one. Quartz worktops are 90-99% quartz. The exact ratio depends on the manufacturer and type of quartz worktop.

Word of the Day – Escrow

An Escrow is a financial agreement between two people or organizations in which money or property is kept by a third person or organization until a particular condition is met. It helps make transactions more secure by keeping the payment in a secure escrow account which is only released when all of the terms of an agreement are met as overseen by the escrow company.

US Election terms

I’ve been glued to this year’s US election, particularly because I have been working from home and able to have the news on in the background constantly. It made me think of this new segment I would like to tag as ‘GLOSSARY.’ In this segment, I will be posting definitions of words that come up a lot in the media and we need quick referencing to remind us what they are talking about! Lol, well, especially if you are from a different country. So here’s to my 1st posting, and we have Swing States.

Swing states: States in which the electorate is relatively evenly split between Republicans and Democrats, making them targets for aggressive campaigning by both sides.
