“Laced with Hope told the story of a child’s journey following a diagnosis of cancer, and the work the charity Supershoes does to empower that child in their fight. The use of art to frame the garden represented the way the charity uses art on shoes to inspire sick children. Sculptures were included in the garden to represent children and their families. The lace sculpture extended up, over and through the plants, binding all elements together, with the bench providing a place for friends and support staff to sit and reflect.”

I’m Sure people are beginning to think I am obsessed with Matthew Williamson, the fashion designer, truth is, I am! I love everything about him, I admire his work, I want to be him, lol.
But seriously I have been fascinated by his prints for decades and when he moved over to deigning interiors I was beyond excited, I could own a piece for my home as well which works well you get to see a cushion daily but your dresses and frocks are tucked away in the wardrobe for a fabulous occasion. Anyways, when he decided to collaborate with installation artist Rebecca Louise Law and Blakes Hotel Kensington to design The Hendrick’s Horticultural Oasis in 2015, this immediately a point of reference for me and I keep on referring back to this vibrant indoors outdoors space for ideas.
