
A Sensory Journey Through Art and History
From October 9, 2024, to January 5, 2025, the Serpentine North Gallery will host a groundbreaking exhibition featuring the works of Haegue Yang. This immersive experience showcases the artist’s unique ability to blend diverse cultures, histories, and traditions into captivating installations and sculptures.
Yang’s artistic creations span a wide range of mediums, from paper collages to interactive sculptures. Inspired by East Asian traditions, modernism, and contemporary art history, she incorporates everyday objects like drying racks, light bulbs, and handcrafted materials into her work. These elements not only add visual interest but also carry cultural significance.
“Leap Year” offers a comprehensive overview of Yang’s career, highlighting the personal, social, and political themes that resonate throughout her art. The exhibition features key works from her acclaimed series, including “Light Sculptures” and “Sonic Sculptures,” alongside new commissions.
Through installations, sculptures, collages, and more, Yang invites visitors to experience her art on a sensory level.
